Our students have worked very hard this year, so today they were rewarded with a Fun Day! Thank you to the WTES PTO for all of their hard work putting this together, and thank you to all the parents for volunteering your time!

Lunch change for tomorrow, June 2nd:

Today, John Murray and Andrea Lambert from the Taylor County 4-H Extension Office came to do stomp rockets with first grade. After learning about rockets and the forces of flight, students designed their rockets and launched them outside to see whose rocket could fly the farthest.

May is Food Allergy Awareness Month, and we want to take this opportunity to remind our families to be aware of potentially life-threatening allergies with peanuts in our school.

The lunch menu for the rest of the year:

Mrs. Messenger’s third grade practiced their addition skills by learning how to play Double Six Dominoes! They had fun learning a new game (and not realizing they were working)!

Happy Memorial Day!

It was wonderful to see our former West Taylor students who are now graduating from GHS as the Class of 2023. Congratulations! We are very proud of you!

Memorial Day Parade Reminders:

Mark your calendars!

Mrs. Barcus's Pre-K has been talking about ice cream this week and yesterday, they made some.

Students in grades 2-4 enjoyed learning about Spanish culture through dances, music, and skits presented by Señora Skaggs and her students at GHS. Several of our former students were among the student presenters.

Day 4: Today staff was treated to an Olive Garden lunch and given their gift from the PTO.

Day 3: The staff enjoyed lunch outside from Leer Mining Complex and a little treat from the WTES PTO sponsored by PTO Today.

Update to threat: Taylor County Schools has been in contact with Taylor County Schools in Kentucky and learned the threat is not related to them but a social media post spreading nationwide. Authorities there continue to work on locating the person who began this earlier in the week.

Taylor County Schools was alerted to a possible threat involving a weapon and TCMS. The Sheriff’s Department investigated and determined it was meant for a school in Taylor County Kentucky. We appreciate those who shared the message and the diligence of the Sheriff’s department and the support they will provide at TCMS today.

Day 2: The staff will enjoy a dessert buffet along with a charcuterie board from County Roads Charcuterie curiosity of Barbara Robrecht, Alyssa Hough.
Desserts donated by the Robrecht family and Emily Altman.

The AMAZING door decorations our parents put together!!! We thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts! We would not have been able to pull this off without your help!!
