Thank you to the Spanish Honor Society from GHS for coming to our school on Monday! Students rotated in 5 different stations where they learned about Spanish greetings, the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Hispanic countries, and a salsa band. They also were able to taste homemade tortillas and Maria cookies. Our students loved it! It was also nice to see so many former WTES students!

Mr. Horacek came to talk to Mrs. Himes’s class about aeroponics. He also helped transplant their “Pumpkin Jack” sprouts into a larger container. In October, students put a small pumpkin in a jar and watched as it decomposed and then grew new sprouts. They are excited to see what happens next!
Mrs. Messenger’s 3rd grade is studying perimeter. Today they “shape shifted” their straw triangles by adding sides to review plane shapes. They then used the formula for finding the perimeters to find the perimeter of their decagons. Friends put together their decagons and made icosagons (20 sided polygons) and computed those perimeters!! Lots of fun today!
Today, the kids got to see a motivational magic show. Along with performing magic tricks, the magician talked to the students about what it means to be great: Focus on the goal, be teachable, don’t quit, and reach out with kindness.
Don’t forget tonight is our April PTO Meeting at 5:30 pm. Please come join us!
